Curt Bender is a Tallahassee business attorney and former Florida Department of Business and Professional regulator who serves as outside general counsel to companies, providing solutions in plain English.

Curt Bender helps Florida businesses make faster, better decisions. He started his legal career as a student in FSU’s Business Law Client. After graduation, Curt served the State of Florida as regulator at the Department of Businesss and Professional Regulation in the division of Drugs, Devices & Cosmetics, where he served as one of three attorneys responsible for statewide oversight of pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors, OTC manufacturers, cosmetics, and medical devices. Curt built his practice around what founders need day-to-day: clear contracts, practical dispute resolution, and steady help with licensing and compliance.

At Bender.Legal, from startup through eight-figure revenue, Curt serves as outside general counsel to companies, drafting and negotiating agreements, issuing targeted demand letters, using mediation/arbitration when appropriate, and  filing suit only when the numbers make sense. When scale demands, Curt brings in trusted co-counsel while staying lead on strategy. Clients Curt serves range from barbershops and New York Times bestselling authors to healthcare companies and auto dealerships.

Curt is deeply involved in Tallahassee’s community, from grassroots events such as chairing Tallahassee Startup Week to serving as a board member of Tallahassee Barristers, Legal Services of North Florida, and Domi Station. Curt also volunteers as a member of his local Sheriff’s Citizens Advisory Council.
